Jerry Easton Williams
1936-2024
Jerry Easton Williams, a man of many talents and endless knowledge to share, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on April 29, 1936, in Alva, Oklahoma, Jerry spent his formative years in his hometown, laying the foundation for a life rich in experiences and relationships.
Throughout his long and varied career, Jerry embodied the spirit of adaptability and lifelong learning. His professional journey took him through numerous fields, including upholstery, mathematics education, school bus driving, insurance adjustment, plastic processing machine sales, oil field work, custom harvesting, real estate brokerage, life insurance sales, and construction management, among others. Even after retirement Jerry still loved getting to volunteer at his church fixing and building as needed and serving alongside his wife as greeters. This diverse career path speaks Jerry’s versatility, curiosity, and willingness to embrace new challenges.
It was while working at the VFW that Jerry met the love of his life, Nancy. Their union, which began January 23, 1962, stood the test of time, lasting for almost 62 years until Nancy’s passing. Their enduring love story serves as an inspiration to all who knew them.
Jerry’s greatest pride and joy came from his family. He was a beloved father to his four children: Donna Elmore, Kathy Combs, Jerry Williams, and Terry Williams. His legacy extends further through his 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, all of whom adored their patriarch.
Jerry’s life was characterized by hard work, devotion to family, and a zest for new experiences. His ability to excel in various professions demonstrated not only his adaptability but also his strong work ethic and determination. These qualities, along with his love for his family, will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
A graveside service to celebrate Jerry’s life and legacy will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Jerry are invited to attend and pay their respects to this remarkable man who lived life to the fullest.
Jerry Easton Williams will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through the many lives he influenced and the loving family he leaves behind.
Aquila and I enjoyed being neighbors to Jerry & Nancy. Often meeting outside, Jerry shared many interesting life experiences. We already miss them both. We are looking forward to one day seeing them again and will enjoy being their neighbors.
Jerry and Nancy, I just loved you both so much! You both had the most beautiful spirits!! Your family is a gift to all who know them because they mirror the same spirit of the Lord that lived in you! So you will always be missed until we all meet again, enjoy your heavenly home!!♥️🙏😍✝️
