Jeffery L. Atchison

1965-2018

Atchison, JeffOn June 14, 2018, Jeffery Lynn Atchison, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and dear friend, passed away suddenly at the age of 52. Jeff will be forever remembered by his wife, best friend, and soul-mate, Jamie. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother-in-law, uncle, words with friends opponent, tye-dye wearer, listener, and such a kind friend to many.

Jeff was always kind, goofy, insightful, and genuine. Even after losing his eye sight due to multiple sclerosis, you would have never know if he hadn’t told you. He always had some sort of project he was working on, and he was always reflecting on how to improve himself and grow as a person. Jeff could find the bright side to any situation or just make you feel better by offering a laugh and a hug. He enjoyed good music, winning strategy games, and spending quality time with the people he loved.

He is survived by his beautiful wife, Jamie Atchison, father, Tom Atchison, and his three daughters, Kalyn Atchison, Ayren Marshall, and Lauren Atchison. Also, his brother Jay Atchison and sister Jodie Tucker and their children, his nephew, Justin Tucker, and his wife, Corrie, and niece Sarah Nicole Atchison, and nephew Luke Atchison. He was preceded in death by his mom, Lois Maxine Atchison and his favorite Bleu dog. Jeff is also survived by a whole host of others who felt the impact of his love and positive life perspectives and he will be greatly missed by many.

Jeff’s service and celebration of life will be held Friday, June 22nd at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Crossing Church Oklahoma City.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, 825 NE 13th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73104 (Phone – 405-271-6673) or online at https://omrf.org/donation-form/ in honor of Jeff Atchison for Multiple Sclerosis Research.

  1. What a wonderfully written tribute! I’m so glad you included “words with friends”! He was a formidable opponent! He tromped me so many times that I’m not sure whether he gave up on me or I got tired of being beat up! I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that he is gone, and I know I am not alone in that! He was such a special person, and the memory of his sweet and gentle nature, and his uplifting wit and humor will remain with me forever. May you Rest In Peace, sweet nephew. Aunt Linda

How saddened I was to hear of Jeffs passing, since thankfully I was grateful to have been with him at his mothers celebration time. He is leaving us with family and ambitions to be lived out, but he is with Jesus now. God give peace and comfort to this wonderful family. Cousin Everett Davis

To my cousins Kaylin and Lauren, I am deeply sorry for your loss! He was a very nice man and truly funny, that is what I remember about him. Remember that grief takes a long time, and don’t let anyone tell you to get over it. You come from a family on your mother’s side that have seen a lot tragedy, and will be a good source of comfort for you both; including your sweet grandma. Your mom is very tough and can be a strong shoulder, as she has been through a lot. RIP Bruce, you are with Jesus and we all will see you again.

My heart goes out to Jeff and all of his loved ones. We were friends in high school, and he was such a kind and fun person. May you find moments of comfort and peace amidst the grief of loss, in the blessings of his memory and his love, and in the faith that he lives on and by your side in spirit.
