Graveside services for Jeanne Fleetwood, 98, of Edmond Oklahoma will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 18, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13313 N Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73131 followed by a memorial service at New Covenant United Methodist Church in Edmond at 2:00 p.m. with reception to follow.

Jeanne Miller Fleetwood was born April 28, 1919 to Myrtle (Dyer) Miller and Frank Miller in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Jeanne grew up in Marlow, Oklahoma with her two sisters, Josephine Miller and Ruth Miller, Dunlevy where they all helped with concessions and ticketing services at their fathers Alamo, movie theater.

Jeanne attended the University of Oklahoma, was a member of Delta Gamma sorority and she obtained her associates degree in Home Economics in 1941. Subsequently, she obtained her Masters of Education at Central State College in 1974 and taught in the Oklahoma City Public School System for 13 years.

In June of 1943 she married Bill H. Fleetwood who, within, a short time, was dispatched to Europe to serve in the second world war. Jeanne and Bill raised two children, Linda, and Bill Ward.

Jeanne has been a member of New Covenant United Methodist Church since 1995 where she volunteered her services in multiple ways. During this time at New Covenant she developed lifelong friendships and was pleased to have the opportunity to visit the Holy Land. She also enjoyed other memorable trips organized by the church.

Jeanne’s favorite pastime was knitting and needlepoint and she also loved to read and cook. She cherished the time she shared playing golf, fishing and attending OU football games with her husband, Bill.

Jeanne’s social appetite enabled her to establish close, longtime friendships. Jeanne and Bill started a Dinner Club in 1976 which still meets monthly. Jeanne is the remaining charter member. She is a friend of Bill W and her esteemed anniversary is November 7, 1962. 54 YEARS.

Jeanne died peacefully at her new home, Teal Creek Assisted Living Community surrounded by her son, daughter in law and dear friend Paul and her closest friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Myrtle and Frank, her husband Bill, daughter Linda Ford, sisters, Josephine Miller, Ruth Miller Dunlevy. She is also preceded in death by her nieces, Margaret Dunlevy Anderson, and Ann Dunlevy Welch.

Jeanne is survived by her son, Bill Ward Fleetwood and his wife Debbie of Edmond Oklahoma, her grandson Ryan Fleetwood and his wife Christina of San Diego California and granddaughter Lindsay Michelle Fleetwood, Jacksonville Florida and two step grandsons, Kyle and Daniel Morse. Other survivors include her niece Ellen Dawson and her husband Tyler of Frisco Texas and nephew Frank Dunlevy and wife Susan of San Francisco California. Great niece Kiersten Anderson and her husband John of Alexandria Virginia and nephew in-law John Anderson of Amarillo Texas.
