Jean Patricia Burke was born on March 26, 1936 to Edward and Mary O’Connor in Bronx, New York. Jean married James T. Burke on September 10, 1955 and they were blessed with five sons, Edward, Christopher, James, Kevin and Kenneth. The family resided in Bay Shore, New York until January, 1973 when they were moved to Tulsa, OK by Jim’s employer, Metropolitan Life. Following her husband’s death in 1985, Jean continued living in Tulsa until she relocated to Edmond, OK where she lived in retirement until her death on July 26, 2014. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Edward and Robert and sister Joan. Jean was also preceded in death by her husband of thirty years, Jim and one son Kevin.

Jean is survived by a large and loving family including her sisters, Theresa, Carol and Lillian. Jean is also survived by son Ed and wife Cindy of Bartlesville, OK, son Chris and wife Alison of Tulsa, OK, son Jim and wife Kim of Edmond, OK and son Ken also of Edmond, OK. Jean was also the proud grandmother to Katie, Timothy, Maureen, Kevin, Tricia, Jessica, Theresa and Edward along with many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa, OK. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be given to the donors’ favorite charities. Services are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond, OK.
