Dr. Jason Andrew Lashley was born on February 21st, 1978 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Tommy Gene Lashley and Karen Huggins Lashley. Dr. Lashley passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday January 28th, 2017.

He attended Ft. Gibson Elementary, Jenks West Elementary and Edmond Cimarron Middle School. He graduated in 1996 from Edmond Memorial High School and continued on to Oklahoma Christian University. While there, he was a member of the Summer Singers and grew in his passion and talent as a musician; playing a variety of instruments. He participated in the Vienna studies program and enjoyed travelling abroad with rich cultural experiences.

Jason continued in his musical pursuits after graduation and became lead guitarist for Jami Smith while touring the globe. He often talked about the many places in the world he had traveled. He and his oldest brother, Ryan, had a wonderful trip throughout Europe together. Jason looked back on his times of travel fondly and with joy.

In the summer of 2005, Jason made a decision to begin pursuing a career in medicine. He enrolled in the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine in Chicago, IL. Jason joined his older brother Nathan in his career pursuits and they would often sit and talk medicine for hours while listening to their favorite music.

Dr. Lashley loved sports and shared a special bond of OU football with his family. He was a committed physician and continued to advance his knowledge to provide his patients with the best care. He was a skilled surgeon and was pioneering new techniques and procedures.

His passion for music never waned and he would often play with friends or at church. He was most proud of his beautiful children Chloe Starr Lashley (age 7), Stella Elizabeth Lashley (age 6), and Emmett Jones Lashley (age 4). Jason was a talented and brilliant person who touched so many lives in his short 38 years. The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all those who have shared their wonderful memories of him. Please continue to send your love and support to his family, especially to his darling children. In lieu of flowers the family will be setting up a memorial fund at a later date to support Chloe, Stella, and Emmett.

Very sad to hear of the loss of such a young, talented, and bright guy.
I was a classmate of Jason’s during Podiatry School and remember He and Morgandi’s hospitality and generosity towards those they met over the years spent in the Chicago area. From people’s posts on Facebook and talking to fellow classmates I can tell you touched more lives than you probably knew.
Your Family and Friend’s will be in our prayers during the coming days and over time as you heal from such a great loss. Rest in Peace.

  2. He was the best dr I have ever seen he was very quick to get to the point ! He will be missed dearly ! He was helping me when every other dr didn’t want to ! Praying for his family and friends and co workers !

  3. Please accept my sincere condolences to the family. May the God of all comfort give you the comfort you need to endure this difficult time (2 Corinthians 1:3,4)

  4. I am so very very sorry to hear of Jason’s exit from this life to his eternal home. I am praying and will continue to pray for the family as they walk through the days, weeks and months that are to come. Having recently suffered my own great loss, I know that words are of little help right now. Just know that there are many of us who care and are holding you before the Heavenly Father daily. May His Shalom fill you, surround you and keep you in His tender care.

    Lovingly,
    Rebecca Way (via John Stalcup)
