1942 – 2023
It is with deep sorrow that we say goodbye to our beloved Janice Lois Woods Eck. She passed peacefully to be with her heavenly Father Friday morning at 12:30 AM, October 6th, 2023. Janice was born October 21st, 1942, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Willard and Earline Woods. She grew up in Oklahoma City and attended John Marshal and graduated from Northwest Classen High School. Janice married the love of her life, Douglas Wayne Eck on September 17th, 1965. Their love for each other was rare and beautiful. The many years of Janice’s devotion to Doug was legendary and inspirational to all who knew them. Douglas remained the love of her life even after death.
Janice was loved by all who met and knew her. She was known as a woman of wise words who went out of her way to make those around her feel at home and comfortable. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and a wife. Growing up, her family considered her as the “Heart” of the family. She would often say, “Tell your children and family how much you love them – you can never say it too much”.
Janice passed peacefully surrounded by her oldest daughter Denise, only son Dennis and her granddaughter, Kristy. Her other children and grandchildren wanted to be with her, but she went quickly so she could join the love of her life, Douglas Eck.
