James Lynn Thompson Sr., was born on October 2, 1957, in Borger, Texas to James (Jay) L. Thompson & Greta L. (Qualls) Thompson. James sadly passed away on April 10, 2019 in Edmond, Oklahoma. During high school, James became a trained EMT and a volunteer fireman. Upon graduation from McClain, Texas, he joined the United States Air Force. James was married to Lisa Rothman from 1977 until 1981. After 23 years he retired as sales manager for Ozarka Water Company. He was a member of Edmond Church of Christ and was a volunteer for children touched by grief at The Kids’ Place. James was a member of the Lions Club and served a term as president. James married Sandra Terrell Musgrove in 1984 and his 35 years of devotion to her was a beautiful example to others. He enjoyed the lake, fishing, music, travel, and his dog Pepper. James took great joy in gathering his family and community of neighbors and friends far and wide, and was known for his hospitality, welcoming smile, and generous nature. James is survived by Sandra Thompson of Edmond, OK, his children and spouses: James L. Thompson Jr. of Munfordville, Kentucky, Sabrina (Anthony) Miller of Upton, Kentucky, Sherrie (Allen) Grant of Angola, Indiana, Glenn (Lisa) Musgrove of Edmond, OK. Siblings and Spouses: Sister- Roberta Shriver of Houston, TX, and Sister- Patricia (Sam) Middleton of Lubbock, TX. Sister-in-law- Brenda Thompsan Holtman of Amarillo, TX. Grandchildren: Lauren Grant, Kyle Musgrove, Merideth (Candelario) Guzman, Keith (Shelby) Musgrove, Kaleb Miller, Lincoln Miller, Samuel Miller, and Olivia Miller. And Great Grandchildren: Lillyan McClelland, Leonardo Grant, Lane Guzman. He is preceded in Death By: Father- Jay Thompson, Mother- Greta Thompson, Brother- Boyd Lee Thompson, Brother-in-law- Bill Shriver, and Great Grandson- Tyson Bennett. Formal visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Matthews Funeral Home, funeral services will held at 10:00 am Tuesday at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel.
