James Lewis Hiel
James Lewis Hiel, 79, passed away September 1. 2020. He was born December 13, 1940 in Waldron, AR to Jack and Virginia Harmon Hiel. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Teresa. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy: son, Bryan and wife, Cindy of Edmond; son, Kevin and wife, Lisa of Jones; grandchildren; Jack (Bryan), Colin (Kevin), and Gideon (Bryan); brother, Jereld and wife, Marjorie; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Jim loved the Lord and served as a deacon at First Southern Baptist Church of Arcadia. Jim retired from electrical engineering in 1955 spending most of his career with Tinker AFB and the Federal Aviation Administration. He loved spending time on his farm and with his family – especially his grandchildren who called him “PAPA.”
A public visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Matthews Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be held graveside Saturday, September 5th at 2:00 P.M. at Arcadia I.O.O.F cemetery where he will be interred.
