James “Larry” Rachal passed and went to heaven September 29, 2019. He was born November 22, 1929 in Flora, Louisiana, graduated from Cypress High School in 1948, attended Alexandria Business College for two years then entered the United States Army in 1951 and served 2 years in Japan during the Korean War. In 1954 he married the love of his life, Lucille Stokes Rachal then graduated from Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, Louisiana in 1959 with a degree in Business. Larry moved his family to Norman, Oklahoma to work at Tinker Air Force Base and retired after 30 years of Federal Service as a Computer Programmer/Analyst. He attended Trinity Baptist Church in Norman and served as a RA leader and Sunday School Teacher. He was proceeded in death by his beautiful daughter, Kimberly Rachal Tripp and survived by his wife of 65 years, Lucille Stokes Rachal, brother Ezra (June) Rachal, son James Larry Rachal Jr., daughter Dejuana Rachal Howie, and their spouses Denise Rachal and Vince Howie, six grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, he will be missed by all. Larry enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, gardening, attending children and grandchildren sporting events and activities and helping others. Services will be Tuesday, October 1, 10 a.m. at the Arcadia IOOF Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will follow at Silver Elms Estates of Edmond at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
