1943-2015

deNaples, JamesJames “Jim” Remey deNaples of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away on March 21, 2015, at the age of 71. Jim was born in Stamford, Connecticut, on October 21, 1943, to Vincent and Margret deNaples.
Jim was an engineer, entrepreneur, and innovator.  He was a member of Mensa.  Jim loved to collect old historical Naval artifacts and artwork, as well as WWII memorabilia.

He loved people, loved life and loved to tell stories.  He was most fond of his hometown of Darien Connecticut.  Where he has many friends and has created many memories.  He married the love of his life, Shawnalee, in September 1989.  They have shared lots of great adventures together over the past 25 years.  We are all very blessed to have been a part of his life.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Margret deNaples.

He is survived by his wife, Shawnalee deNaples, of Edmond, OK; his children, Paul and Traci deNaples of Black Forrest, CO, Desiree’ and Brant Koenig of Edmond, OK, and Marika and Shaun Chambers of Edmond, OK; sister Peggy deNaples; Grandchildren, Summer Gaasedelen, Taylor deNaples, Paul Hampton, Lauren Koenig, and Anna, Ava, and Adelaide Chambers; and Great Grandchild Estes Inga Gaasedelen.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Matthews Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Alzheimer’s Association of Oklahoma.

    Thank you to Jim for all he gave to my sister Shawn and her daughter Marika. He was good to them and to the family and will be missed. He was an interesting man with a different flare and sometimes hard to accept but did the best he could all things concerned. I am glad he was in our lives and thankful he is now at peace. Such a difficult illness to contend with.
