1941-2023

James Armstrong Duffield, 81 of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 21, 2023. Jim was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on September 22, 1941 to Armstrong and Helen Duffield. He was the youngest of three children. He went to high school in Wichita and received a bachelors of business from Wichita State University, where he was a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity. He has lifelong friends from high school and college, whom he love dearly and remembered fondly. Jim was a member of ROTC at Wichita State University, and upon graduation he completed officer candidate school and Army finance school. He then fulfilled his time in Heidelberg, Germany where he met Lisbeth. Upon returning to the states Jim started his 40 year career with Fleming Foods, he held many positions from sacker to corporate executive. His favorite job was as division president of Florida, where he created many friendships.

Jim was proceeded in death his wife Lisbeth, just over 6 months ago, his parents, his sister Joan Francis, his brother Byron Duffield and his sister and brother-in-law Greta and Kay Jorgensen. Jim is survived by his son Erik and his wife Kelly of Boulder, CO, his daughter Karin Moreland and her husband Brandon of Edmond and his nine grandchildren: Peter, Ainsley, Caroline, Sam and Anna of Boulder, CO and Emma, Megan, Jill and Brad of Edmond. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Charlotte Duffield, niece Shawna Strube and her husband Jeff, nephew Dan Duffield, nephew David Duffield and his wife Tracy, nephew Gary Duffield and niece Susan Karg. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Niels Jørgensen Clements and his wife Jytte, nieces Birgit Siceloff, Anne-Marie Agerskov and Merete  Eldrup, nephew Peter Wengler and niece and nephew Lisbeth Clement and Claes Clement, all of Denmark. Jim is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews.

Jim was a respected, hardworking man who always put his family first. He was well known for his sense of humor and willingness to talk to anyone. He loved his dogs and grandkids and would share anything he had.

A memorial service will be held for James on Friday, January 27th, 2023 at 2:00pm at Church Alive in Edmond, OK. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Church Alive, 15500 N. Western Ave. Edmond, OK 73013.
