Jacqueta Weese Mars
1926-2021
Born January 20, 1926 in Crawford County, in the town of Dyer, Arkansas. Born to father Harvey Lee Weese and mother Daisy Burney Morse on a snowy night. She started school in 1931 at 5 years of age so her parents could work in the cotton fields. They then moved to Drumright, Oklahoma in 1935 to allow her father to go to work in the oilfield. She attended Washington school for 5th, 6th , and 7th grades. They moved to Arcadia, Oklahoma on a farm across from lake Hiawassee . She attended Arcadia school’s 8th grade thru senior year. Graduating in 1943 as the salutatorian of her class. She worked in the Arcadia park office throughout her high school years. Started work at the union bus station in Oklahoma City in August of 1943. Bookkeeping, information and tour office until 1966. Grey Hound opened a travel office at 28 N Walker and asked her to be the manager. Which she did until 1975. Husband Frank Marrs talked her into moving on his ranch 5 miles south of Cushing, Oklahoma, when she remarried. Raising regular angus cattle after Frank passed away in 1996 on April 12th. She remained loving her house, cattle, and dogs until the day she passed. She was married to Charles Dale Kilburn they divorced in 1956. She married Frank Marrs in 1960. No children. She belonged to the Lincoln County Cattle Producers, American Angus Association, and the National Cattlemen Beef Association. She stayed busy with her cattle and 240-acre farm. She loved reading as read many, many books from her book club. A service will be held at Matthews Funeral Home in the Chapel on Tuesday, March 30th at 2:00 PM.
