Jacqueline Denise Wheeler-Quest

November 30, 1964 — November 30, 2023

Jacqueline Denise Wheeler-Quest was born on September 5, 1965, in Washington, D.C. to Ms. Lina A. Howard.

Jackie, as she was affectionately known, grew up in Southeast D.C. until her family moved to New Orleans, LA in 1976. Jackie was educated in the New Orleans Public School System and graduated from Francis T. Nicholls Sr. High School in 1983, where she was a Dancing Bobcat and played volleyball. After high school she attended American College where she received her Nursing Assistant Certification.

Jackie worked for many years in healthcare, but in 1990 she decided to follow her passion for cooking and enrolled in a Culinary Program where she met the love of her life, Sandy Ray Quest. Jackie and Sandy married shortly afterwards and remained married until Sandy's death in 1998.

Jackie used her talent for cooking and began working in the Hospitality Industry as a Stand Manager for Aramark Food Services at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. She worked there for 15 years before retiring and becoming a full-time homemaker.

Jackie loved to sing, and she performed in many church choirs. She was also an avid crafter, and an excellent cook. She was known to make some of the best fried chicken and grilled steaks. Jackie had the best sense of humor and was always the life of the party. Most of all she loved the Lord! Jackie accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age and was baptized at Florida Baptist Church by the late Rev. Joseph Daggs.

On Thursday, July 18, 2024, Jackie received the most important call she ever had. As much as she loved her family and friends, she was made an offer she could not refuse.

Jackie leaves to cherish her memory, her loving mom Lina A. Howard, 2 beautiful daughters Jamika D. and Ashley V. Wheeler, 1 handsome son Sandy R. Wheeler, 5 amazing grandchildren Jada Green, Jan'nay Wheeler, Troy Green, Amayah Wheeler, and Braylen Smith. She also leaves behind 1 brother Maurice Lyles, 2 sisters LaTanya and Dorothy Howard, 1 Goddaughter DeJanae Jordan, 1 future daughter-in-law Dezsiray Pritchard, a Spiritual Mother Pamela Perria, 2 grand pups Royal and Coco, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Jackie wants us to know that "Although you cannot see me, I am ALWAYS with you"! We loved Jackie, but GOD loved her the most.
