Willis Ray Bottger
1932 – 2022
Willis Ray Bottger of Oklahoma City was called home on October 16, 2022.
Willis was born on February 23, 1932, to Earle and Edith Bottger in Oklahoma City, OK. He graduated from Central High School and Oklahoma City University with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Arts.
Willis married Lois Jean Stoklasa on November 9, 1956. They were married more than 60 years and they had one son, Ray Earle.
Willis worked fixing calculators and copiers first for Monroe Systems for Business and retired from Fuzzell’s Business Equipment. He always remembered all of his customers and became friends with many of them.
A lifelong railfan, Willis was one of the original members of what has become the Oklahoma Railway Museum.
He is survived by his son Ray Earle Bottger and wife Robin of Edmond, OK, two grandsons, Chris and Ben Bottger, and sister-in-law Norma Stoklasa.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of the Norman Veterans Center for care they provided to Willis while he was a resident in the facility.
Funeral services will be at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, OK on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, beginning at 2:00pm followed by internment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rest in Peace, he was a wonderful man.
He was very much loved by all of the staff here at the Norman Veteran’s Center. We think of him often! and miss him! May GOD lift him high up in His loving light and arms!
