Victor Andzuis, age 83, died peacefully in his home in Arcadia, Oklahoma on July 8, 2022. He is the beloved husband of Linda (Baker) Andzulis to whom he has been married for 61 years.
Victor was born in Bridgeport, CT, on June 17, 1939 to his late parents, Victor J Andzulis and Emelia Pauline “Emily” Beigert Andzulis. He is survived by his brother, Gregory Andzulis and sister-in-law, Penny. He is also survived by his son, Victor John Andzulis and wife Cathy, his daughter, Elaine Perriello and husband Domenic, his daughter Jean Andzulis Maier and husband Troy, and 10 Grandchildren – Victor John Andzulis (Megan), Sharon Shepard, Emily Andzulis, Matthew Andzulis, Michael Silvestrini, Finnley Maier, Hans Maier, Mack Maier, Georgiana Maier, and Dutch Maier, and 4 Great-Grandchildren – Ethan and Evelyn Andzulis and Charlee and Lorelei Shepard, and several nieces and nephews.
Victor is a graduate of Stratford High School, Stratford, CT and attended The University of Bridgeport. He is a Veteran of the United States Army and also the Army National Guard.
Vic worked as a journeyman butcher for many years. He then became a commercial lighting salesman in the Orlando Area until his retirement. He took pride in his work by going above and beyond for his customers.
Vic was an avid gardener, creating beautiful landscapes at every home in which he lived. One of his favorite quotes is – “Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant.” He was also an excellent cook, creating succulent masterpieces for all to enjoy.
Vic was an honest-to-goodness Dr. Doolittle. There wasn’t an animal that he met that didn’t fall in love with him! Even at the zoo! He had many dogs during his lifetime who all thrived under his care and were deeply loved. He requested that his epitaph read: “I went to go see my dogs.” No doubt, there were a lot of happy pups when Victor arrived.
Vic touched so many lives with his great sense of humor, his extremely quick wit, his incredible knowledge of history and many other subjects, his generosity, and his kind, selfless, loving manner. He was always willing and eager to help family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.” ~ Psalm 37:23
