Uwe Howard Kersten died on November 27, 2022, in Edmond, OK. He was born in Magdeburg, Germany on June 9, 1941. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 13 and became a U.S. citizen at the age of 19. He worked as a Good Humor ice cream man in New Jersey to earn money for college. An unfortunate accident claimed Valerie’s life in 1974, and a few years later, he started dating fellow church member, Suzanne Berry. They got married in 1977 and blended their families, which now included Suzanne’s children, Kelly and Brent. He started his own business as a sales representative for commercial building products. After retirement, Howard and Suzanne enjoyed traveling until his health made travel difficult. Despite his health issues, he remained a positive person until his death.
