Trenten “Trent” James Duit was born on January 28, 1973 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to James Alan Duit and Pamela Ann Duit. Trent grew up in Iowa Falls, Iowa and moved to Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of nine. It was apparent from an early age that Trent had an adventurous spirit and independent streak.
Trent attended Edmond Memorial High School where he excelled in football, wrestling and found a passion for diving. After graduation Trent enlisted in the Army and served two years in Germany. Once he finished his military service, he worked for the family construction business as a fabricator and later worked his way up to sand plant manager.
Trent loved the outdoors and enjoyed making bows and arrows by hand, as he was very talented and skilled with wood working. He thoroughly enjoyed barefoot skiing, water skiing, wake boarding and all things involving water. He was also very interested in history and his knowledge of the subject was impressive. He loved his dog Khan and above all else, he loved his family.
Trent was admitted into the hospital on Sunday evening and fought a valiant fight against MRSA and Pneumonia. At 12:15 PM on Tuesday, December 6th, the Lord called him home. He died peacefully with his family around him in the ICU care unit of Integris/Baptist. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Truman and Eunice Langager, Gerald Duit and Phyllis Sawden. Perhaps, his greatest fault was that he was too selfless. He cared too much for his fellow man, with nary a thought for himself. A man of limitless accomplishments, and unbridled modesty.
I can safely say that to know him was to love him. And to love him was to know him. Those who knew him, loved him, while those who did not know him, loved him from afar.
