Timothy John O’Keefe

Timothy John O’Keefe

Feb 27, 1928, to May 11, 2022

Husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather

Timothy John O’Keefe was born to an Irish father and Italian mother. He grew up on South Broadway in St. Louis, a tough part of the city where police officer’s would only patrol in pairs. Tim was a gambler as a young man, but, quit, “cold turkey” when his twins were born.

Tim spent his working life as a press operator and loved what he did. He and his wife, Gloria, moved to Crestwood, a suburb of St. Louis in 1955. They remained in that home until 2007 when they moved to the sunshine state of Florida. Then in 2013, he and Gloria made their final move together to Teal Ridge in Edmond. Gloria passed away in 2015 which was a terrible blow to Tim after 62 years of marriage.

Tim was all about his work and his family. After retiring, he and Gloria took extended driving trips across the United States. There were many St. Louis adventures with the grandkid’s to Grant’s Farm and Lone Elk State Park in the “Buddy Car.”

Not a sports fan or a health fanatic, Tim enjoyed a cold beer, salami, and pretzels. He loved to watch Westerns on television, especially in his later years.

After surviving Covid, a stroke and prostrate surgery, Tim moved to Teal Ridge assisted Living in January 2021. His final move was to St. Annes Nursing home where he enjoyed playing bingo, going to exercise class, and, of course, happy hour on Friday’s.

Tim was a proud Irishman, and a man devoted to his family. A man who rarely complained. He died on May 11, 2022, at 94 years of age and was surrounded by family

Tim was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria, in 2015. He is survived by his children, Michael O’Keefe, (wife Lori), Shelia Goodenough, (husband, Rick) and Linda Giddens (husband, Art). He is also remembered as the best granddad ever to grandchildren, Michelle, Matthew, Keegan, Tavish, and Grant.

Public visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m., Friday, May 13th at Matthews Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 13, 2022 at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond, OK.
