Steven Gerald Johnson
1946-2022
Steven Gerald Johnson passed without pain and surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the age of 75. Born July 5, 1946, in Lubbock, Texas. Steve ventured back and forth between Texas and Oklahoma, moving from church to church as his father was a Baptist preacher and his mother the pianist for every church. Steve finally settled in Oklahoma after graduating from Wichita Falls High School and a brief stint studying for a degree in music at Midwestern State University.
Throughout his adult life, Steve spent many years working in law enforcement for the Bethany Police Department, Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department, and finally opened a bail bonds business. His favorite hobbies included playing music or singing with his friends, while finding time to spend telling stories. Steve thrived on being the life of the party, but he made sure that nobody missed out on any of the fun.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Gerald & Fontilla Johnson and is survived by one sister, four children: Stephanie Berryhill, Scott Johnson, Marianna Alsugair & Michael Johnson, three grandchildren, and one great grandchild who all loved him more than he could imagine.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Christ the King Catholic Church (8005 Dorset Drive, Nichols Hills, Oklahoma) with inurnment at Arcadia IOOF cemetery.
