Raymond had many different employments during his lifetime but considered working for the Lord his first passion. In the 1960s and 1970s he pastored in a small farm community in southeastern Oklahoma near the Texas border, as well as being an assistant pastor in Washington, D.C. and the state of Arizona. He evangelized from the eastern coast to the western coast of the USA.

He continued in the Lord’s work until dementia/Alzheimer’s took over his life. He attended the Sanctuary Christian Center of Edmond. He loved reading and studying his many bibles and commentaries from the many religions of the world. He collected books and magazines of all topics such as nature, medical, history and cooking and even church hymns. He loved to sing even though he could not carry a tune. As a teenager, he played in the Golden Gloves Clubs. He played baseball with different church groups throughout his middle age years. He was also a great chess player. When his older children were young, he spent playtime hours with them. Daughter Denise talks about him becoming their horse for them to ride and would carry one on each shoulder so they both could ride him at the same time. He and his wife were married in Capital Heights, Maryland and were together just a few weeks short of 57 years this February.
