In the early morning hours of Friday, January 13th, Peggy June King, a beloved mom, sister, grandmother, and widow, passed away peacefully in her home. She lived a long life of 80 years. Born to Johnnie Mangold-Estes and Vint Thomas, Peggy grew up in Durham in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. She met and married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Lee King. They were together for nearly forty years before Kenneth Lee passed away in 1999. She spent a few years teaching elementary school before becoming a full time wife, mother, and homemaker.
Peggy was a generous and loving person. She loved her two daughters, Kimberly Frank and Kelly King and also her twin granddaughters Madison and Brooklyn. She enjoyed reading and watching the Thunder basketball games on TV. When Kenneth Lee was alive, she fully supported him in all his hobbies and tinkering. She is survived by her two daughters Kimberly andKelly, Kimberly’s husband Corbin, and her two granddaughters Madison and Brooklyn. She is also survived by her loving sisters Lola Harris and Gayle Yowell, who were her best friends that she talked to daily. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Lee King, her mother Johnnie Mangold-Estes, father Vint Thomas, and her brother Joe Thomas.
A private family funeral service will be held. She will be laid to rest at White Rose Cemetery in Reydon, Oklahoma.
