Paul D. Combrink
1936-2022
Paul D Combrink, 85, passed away peacefully at his home near Guthrie, OK while surrounded by family early Sunday morning, Feb 20, 2022. He was born Nov 19, 1936, in Billings, OK.
Paul’s life was centered around his faith and in our savior, Jesus Christ. This cornerstone was established early in his life as one of his father’s many occupations was serving as the pastor of Baptist Churches in Billings and Three Sands, OK. His mother was also a devout Christian which helped ensure Paul’s foundation was rooted in honesty, hard work, and a servant’s mindset that became a passion to help others throughout his lifetime.
A native of Billings, Paul served in the US Air Force, earned his degree from OSU in Stillwater, and had a successful career in the Inspection Division at CONOCO in Ponca City. His work allowed him to travel the world and spend time with coworkers that were more than friends. A lunchtime ritual in the office was playing competitive card games of pitch with his buddies. After retiring, he and wife Donna moved near Lake Eufaula where he was ordained as a Deacon of the Vivian Baptist church. The couple then moved to Ardmore before settling near his daughters. Paul’s many hobbies included watching different sports—especially the Sooners—as well as hunting, boating, and being able to make or repair about anything.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, William H and Jewel Evans Combrink; his wife of 32 years, Rosalyn M Shobe; two brothers, Harold and Joe; and a lifetime of family pets.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Donna; sister, Barbara; daughters, Melanie, Desiree, and their husbands; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Paul’s honor to Disabled Veterans, www.dav.org.
