1946 – 2022

Patrick Montie Grissom, age 76, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away December 12, 2022

Patrick (Pat) was born June 2, 1946, in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Otis L. Grissom and Maggie J. (Elkins) Grissom.

Pat attended Southeast High School in Oklahoma City. He received an associate’s degree from OSU Extension in Oklahoma City and began working for TLC Garden Center on Memorial in Edmond. He remained with TLC for over 30 years until his recent retirement due to illness. He was very proud of his work there and being referred to as the “Rose Man”.

A quote from TLC owner, Frank McDonald: “The entire TLC family is saddened by Pat’s passing. He was the heart and soul of our nursery department for over 30 years. Not only was he our most knowledgeable and experienced associate, his impish smile and dry sense of humor made him the favorite of all our customers and co-workers.

Pat loved football and was a huge and loyal OU fan. He would always wear his OU hat and sweatshirt on football weekends (against company policy). He loved taking trips by train to Ft. Worth and Houston and San Antonio.

Pat is survived by one brother: Dion Parker of Sacramento, CA, three sisters: Jeanine Fleming (husband, Morris) of Lantana, Texas; Marian Craig of Edmond; Karol Beatty of Edmond; sisters in law, Velma Halley of Blanchard, OK and Carla Grissom Stockwell of Joplin, MO. and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

TLC will close early on Saturday, January 7th for a reception memorial for friends and family at 2pm.
