Glenn Neil Smith was born August 9, 1945, to Glenn and Elta Smith.  He unexpectedly passed away July 8, 2022, at Integris Edmond Hospital, at the age of 76.  Neil graduated from Lookeba-Sickles High School in 1963.  On November 27, 1964, he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Karen Baker.  He served in the US Army Reserve during the Vietnam War, serving 6 years as a Drill Sergeant.  He was a peanut farmer in the Sickles area until his retirement in 2000.  Then he and his wife, Karen, moved to Edmond where he enjoyed golf, yard work, meeting new friends, and enjoying his grandchildren’s company.  He was a family man, and loved his children, his 6 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter, and 1 great-grandson to be born in September.  He looked forward to decorating his home and yard for Halloween and Christmas, where he enjoyed entertaining friends and family.  He loved the joy it brought to others.

Survived by his wife, Karen, their son, Barry and wife Darla, their daughter Joele Harmon and husband, Jimmy.  Six grandchildren, Chazen Smith and wife Erin, Shayden Smith and wife Becca, Stori Bass and husband Kenny, Chandin Smith and fiancé J.W. Morrow, Daxon Harmon, and Jaren Harmon.  One great-granddaughter Sunny Smith, and one great-grandson, Alder Smith, to be born in September.  Two sisters, Nancy Shafer and husband Joe, and Nelda Clark.

There will be a public viewing from 3pm to 8pm on Tuesday July 12, 2022, at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, OK.  Memorial services will be private for the immediate family on Wednesday July 13, 2022.
