Mary Fugate

Mary Fugate

1952 – 2023

Mary Kathleen “Kathy” Fugate (70) transformed from her earthly body to her perfectly healed heavenly one on January 11, 2023. With her favorite Beatles song, “Let it Be” playing in the background and her children by her side, her heavenly father welcomed her home.

Kathy is survived by two daughters, Tally Fugate of Richardson, TX and Kristal (Paul) Wyckoff of Edmond, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents Duane and Juanita Mogg of Bethany, OK and her brother Bill Mogg of Bethany, OK.

Most recently, Kathy enjoyed spending her time coloring beautiful pictures and watching TV, with some of her favorites being the Ellen DeGeneres show or the game show network. She had a love and fascination with butterflies. Her room was full of butterfly décor, and you would often find her wearing them on her clothing.

Kathy fought a long hard battle, and though she will be greatly missed, her daughters find comfort knowing she is finally pain free and reunited with her loved ones. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Kathy’s core hospice team who walked this journey with them the past year and a half. To mom’s nurse, you are an angel on this earth and there are no words to express the family’s appreciation. Finally, the family is also grateful to the health care and hospice teams at Mercy Hospital for the compassionate care provided, and love shown to Kathy and the family.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 10:45am for Kathy’s Celebration of Life at the Light House on Lake Hefner, Lake Hefner Parkway, Oklahoma City, OK 73120 with Reverend Mark Foster officiating. After a brief service, the celebration will continue with a private lunch at Mama Roja, 9219 S. Lake Hefner Dr., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73120, in the dining room overlooking Lake Hefner from 11:30am to 1:30pm. (Lunch will be provided; Guests will be responsible for individual bar purchases.)

Please wear your favorite shade of BLUE and come celebrate Kathy with another of her favorite things, Mexican Food and Margaritas!

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memoriam of Kathy to https://www.saveourmonarchs.org/in-memoriam.html or to Matthews Funeral home in Edmond, OK to help Kathy’s daughters with expenses.
