Mark Steven Standifer

Mark Steven Standifer

January 3, 1953 – February 9, 2022

Mark was preceded in death by his parents Weldon and Arletha Standifer. Survived by his sisters and their spouses, Marcia Butler (Richard) and Marilyn Holbrook (Robert). Also survived by his niece and nephews, Lori Standifer, Jason Slider (Jessica) and Blake Butler (Kendal). His great niece Samantha Nathan and great nephew Jake Butler. Mark graduated from L.D. Bell High School, Hurst Texas in 1971. Shortly thereafter he joined the United States Navy where he began his electrical training and earned many awards. Mark spent 12 years with the Navy and then started his own electrical company working on high powered generator equipment. After surviving an accident on one of the sites, Mark then became an educator and public speaker on electrical safety. The video of his accident (The Mark Standifer Story and other reasons) has become a popular training tool for safety courses and has helped save many lives with the knowledge learned. Mark loved his Lord, his family, Harleys, the mountains, OU football (well any sport involving a ball), working on computers and especially his dogs. But if ever there was trouble to be found you could be sure Mark was somewhere near either helping out or creating it!

Services will be held at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday March 12, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.
