Marilois Rush
October 21, 1939 – August 13, 2022
Marilois (Wright) Rush, sadly passed away peacefully in her sleep on 8/13/2022 at 82 years of age. She was in her home where she has resided in Edmond OK for the past 20+ years, with her daughter Susan.
Marilois was born on October 21, 1939, to Alice and James Hamlin in Raytown MO. Marilois was an only child.
Marilois attended Coffeyville High School in Coffeyville, KS. She was part of the swim team during her years in school. It was there in school where she met Linford Wright.
Linford Wright and Marilois married on October 22, 1956. They were blessed with six wonderful children. She enjoyed going to the lake and spending time with her family. She really enjoyed the fishing part of it. Marilois loved her animals especially dogs, for family had dogs almost all the time while they were growing up. Then there were the holidays that Marilois looked forward to, for they would gather with family. Marilois would cook for days on end during the holidays, for she loved to cook. The home would smell of pies, breads, all sorts of goodies during this time.
The later years in life Marilois found a real joy in reading. The Bible was a daily book that she loved to read. She also like to read romance mysteries, especially the ones in the Victorian times. She loved her crossword puzzles. She worked the ones in the daily paper along with books of crosswords puzzles. Her best friend at home was Chloe, who was her cat. Chloe kept her very entertained and most of the time laughing.
She was preceded in death by Father James Hamlin, Stepfather Donald W. Higginson, Mother Alice (Higginson) Simmons, and her son Anthony Dean Wright.
She was survived by her five children. Sherry and Jim Ferguson of Noble, OK. Mark and Sherrie Wright of Moore, OK. Susan Nyte of Edmond, OK. Johnny and Dana Wright of OKC, OK. Candence and James Fleming of MWC, OK. 9 Grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and many more family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 2:00 PM.
I am so sorry to hear of Marilois passing away. I just found out about it. She stayed in touch with my cousin, Lori Lorenzen. You probably don’t remember me. My brother was Randy Rush. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
