In Loving Memory of…
Lorraine Griffin was born in Mayfield, OK in 1923 to Ernest & Callie Prock. She was the middle of three daughters raised on a farm during the Great Depression.
Lorraine married Claud Griffin in 1941. They were married 69 years when Claud passed from this life in 2010. During World War II they moved several times while Claud served as a B-24 crew member. After the war, they lived in Seminole, Enid, and Mustang before moving to Edmond. She fulfilled her dream of being a good wife and mother, who was known for her cooking and hospitality. She served as an elder’s wife and Bible school teacher for many years selflessly giving of her time.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Claud, and younger sister Shirley Anderson. She is survived by her children Carolyn Edwards and Ron Griffin, older sister Norma Reed, grandchildren Shalise Imke and husband David, Brad Edwards, Hunter Edwards and wife Cassie, David Griffin, and Daniel Griffin, great-grandchildren Roger Edwards and wife Diamond, Ashley Cash, Bailey Cash, and CJ Edwards and wife McKenzie, and great-great granddaughter Liliana Edwards.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to In Search of the Lord’s Way, Edmond, OK.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Edmond Church of Christ, Edmond, OK. Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Erick Cemetery, Erick, Oklahoma.
Public visitation will be held Monday, December 12, 2022, at Matthews Funeral Home from noon until 8:00pm. Family will be present to greet friends and guests from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
