Margaret Ann Stanley

Margaret Ann Stanley

1940-2022

Margaret (Marge) Ann Stanley, age 81, passed away suddenly on January 26, 2022 in her sleep. She was born February 2, 1940 in Bermuda and adopted at the age of five, living in Waukegan, IL.

Marge enjoyed her job as a Waitress/Hostess for many years in the Chicagoland area. She was easy to like and always had a smile.

Marge loved flower gardening, shopping with her bestie Flo, volunteering at nursing homes, and spending time with family and friends.

She married Charles Edward Nelms (deceased) in 1961, and they raised four children together in Buffalo Grove, IL. She later married William Carroll Stanley (deceased) in 1986. They moved to Jackson, TN where they lived for over 15 years.

Marge moved to Edmond, Oklahoma to be near her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in 2019.

After many years of searching, in 2017 she became acquainted with her biological family from Bermuda. She was able to visit Virginia to meet her half brother and family, which was a very special event. It was her hope to visit Bermuda one day.

Marge had a friendly, child-like spirit and never met a stranger. She will be sorely missed but is now in Heaven with Jesus, praising God!

Marge is survived by her children: Keith Nelms, Rene’ Nelms, Scott (and Lila) Nelms, Dawn (and John) Booth; her grandchildren: Brooke Nelms, Gage Nelms, Tim (and Tara) Booth, Alli (and Cyle) Fabrie, Stacey Booth (and Conner Howard); her great grandchildren: Norah Fabrie, Charlie Fabrie, “Baby Boy Booth”; and her dear friend, Florence Booth.

There will be a Memorial Service at New Hope Church of Christ on January 30, 2022 at 6:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Heart Association or American Lung association.
