Lois Lillian McCabe
1932-2022
Lois Lillian Bolka McCabe, affectionately known as “Lolo”, aged 90, of Edmond, OK, passed away Tuesday December 20, 2022. Lolo was born in Chicago, Il on October 17, 1932, to Edward and Lillian Bolka.
She married John “Jack” Edward McCabe on May 2, 1959. They were happily married for 51 years until Jack’s passing on October 16, 2010.
Lois was a cradle Catholic, and her faith was an important part of her life. She and Jack were founding members of St. Julian’s in Elk Grove Village, Il. There, she enjoyed singing in the choir, especially at Christmas.
As a Bookkeeper and Office Manager, Lois worked many jobs up into her 80’s. In her last role, she assisted her dear friend, Kathi Burch, in building the company Sharper Image Engravers (Lombard, Il).
Lolo loved to travel, bowl, play cards, and dice with countless friends and family. She particularly enjoyed playing dominoes with family members, especially her dear brother, Ed.
A graduate of Fenger High School, Chicago was her lifetime home, moving to Edmond in 2020 to be close to family.
Lois was proceeded by her dear husband Jack, parents Ed and Lillian, nieces Patty, Lucy, Katie, and sister-in-law, Kay. She is survived by her children, Nan and Patrick (Kay) and dearest grandchildren, Layne and Timothy. Her brother Ed, many nieces, nephews, and godchildren mourn her passing and will miss her greatly.
A wake will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, December 26, 2022 at Matthews Funeral Home. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond, OK with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Lois’ name to the St Elizabeth Ann Seton Scholarship Fund.
