Lisbeth Duffield
1942-2022
Lisbeth Duffield, 79, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 12, 2022. Lisbeth was born in 1942 in Odense, Denmark to Ernst and Harriet Rasmussen. She was the middle of three children. After completing school she attended a well-known finishing school in Sora. She then returned to Copenhagen where she worked as a secretary for a few years and then moved to Heidelberg, Germany to improve her German and met Jim there. She then returned to Odense where she became an apprentice to a pharmacist, and after a long distance relationship for many years she moved to America to marry Jim.
Lisbeth was married to James A. Dufflield for 51 years. They lived in Lakeland, Florida for 12 years before relocating to Edmond, Oklahoma. Lisbeth is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Greta and brother-in-law Kay, her brother-in-law Byron Duffield and sister-in-law Joan Francis. Lisbeth is survived by her husband James, her daughter Karin Moreland and her husband Brandon of Edmond, Oklahoma, her son Erik Duffield and his wife Kelly of Boulder, Colorado. Her nine grandchildren Emma, Megan, Jillian and Bradley of Edmond, and Peter, Ainsley, Caroline, Samuel and Anna of Boulder. She is also survived by her brother Niels Jorgen Clement and wife Jytte of Odense and their family, her beloved nephew and nieces, Peter Wengler of Copenhagen, Denmark, Birget Siceloff of New York, Merete Eldrup of Copenhagen, Denmark and Anne-Marie Agerskov of Copenhagen, Lisbeth Clement of Odense, and Claes Clement of Odense, as well as many great nieces and nephews, her sister-in-law Charlotte of Phoenix, Arizona and nieces and nephews Shawna Strube of Phoenix, Arizona, David Duffield of San Diego, California and Dan Duffiled of Phoenix, Arizona.
Lisbeth was a devoted follower of Christ and was an ordained minister. She spent her life sharing her love of Christ and of His great love for us. During her years in ministry she taught bible study at Metro Church and led the Oklahoma chapter of AGLOW, a women’s ministry. She spent countless hours in prayer and the study of God’s Word. She was a devoted mom and friend and deeply loved her family both near and far.
A memorial service for Lisbeth will be held on Saturday June 18, 2022 at 10:00am at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly Ave., Edmond, OK 73003.
