Lillian Mae Aloway Hale Peltier

Lillian Mae Aloway Hale Peltier passed away Tuesday evening, August 23, 2022, at Veraden Senior Living in Edmond, OK. She was born December 25, 1926, in Wilbarger County, Vernon, Texas to Charley Aloway and Vida Ruth Wilsie Aloway She graduated from Wewoka High School in 1944. Lillian married Jack Hale February 17, 1950. They were married for 36 years and raised four sons. She retired from Shawnee Public Schools where she worked as a Registrar. She and her husband Jack were very busy with Boy Scouts. They were awarded the Scout Family of the Year in 1968. After Jack’s death she married Kenneth Peltier on February 9, 1990. They were married for over 24 years.

Lil was a storyteller. She always had a story to make you smile regardless of the situation. She authored a book about her life that is a treasure to her family, “Memory Box Revisited”. Her family was her world. All her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren believed they were her favorite. Her greatest gift was love, and all her love was centered and anchored in her devoted service to her Risen Lord, Jesus Christ. She was a member of Central Church of Christ in Shawnee for many years, as well as the First Christian Church in Shawnee and the Dale Church of Christ. She was currently attending Memorial Road Church of Christ in Edmond, OK.

She is survived by her four children John and Cathy Hale, Rick and Cindy Hale, Rusty and Lana Hale and Rob and Karen Hale; stepchildren Marsha and Bill Sims and Tanya Peltier. She is survived by grandchildren: Jennifer Chopelas, Lindsay and Kasey Parke, Stephanie and Lucius Crandall, Jeff and Alicia Hale, Jonathan and Erin Hale, Joe Hale, Courtney and Dan Dickensheet, Rikki Hale, Tacy and Brayden Pickard, Jack and Hannah Hale, Kelli Stump, Matt Stump, Reuben Peltier, Kanton Peltier, Kim Sims, Billy Sims, Vicki Keener, Nicki Peltier II, Tina Peltier, Bradley Peltier, Jeremy Peltier. Great grandchildren are Adler, Haley, Lauren, Austin, Kennedy, Madison, Ralphie, Benjamin, Leah, Sophia, Marshall, Olivia, James, Henry, Anna, Alex and Zack. Also survived by her siblings Pat Gaddert, Janet King, Melvin and Jo Aloway, Jimmy Aloway. She was preceded in death by her parents Charley and Vida Aloway, husbands Jack Hale and Kenneth Peltier, and sisters, Betty Cato, Billie Jo Kemp, Charlene Means, stepsons Kenneth Eugene Peltier and Nicki Peltier.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Matthew’s Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly, Edmond, OK followed by burial at the Dale Cemetery.  Visitation will be 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 28 at Matthew’s Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers you may send donations to the Tipton Children’s Home, 1000 N. Broadway Ave, Tipton, OK  73570.
