Judy Ann Forrester

Judy Ann Forrester passed from this world to share eternity with her Lord on November 30, 2021, after courageously living with Alzheimer’s disease for several years.

Judy was born on March 16, 1948, to Sam and Violet Hendrix in Bartlesville, OK. Judy joined big sister Jane and three additional sisters followed – Suzette, Jill and Janell. The Hendrix family moved to Oklahoma City and Judy attended Putnam City High School. Faith was important in the Hendrix home and the family devotedly attended churches of Christ. Judy loved music and would often sing with her sisters.

After high school, Judy attended Oklahoma Christian College. The lifelong friends Judy met at OCC included a handsome, lanky track athlete from Southern California, Larry Forrester. Larry and Judy married on April 19, 1968. Two sons – Todd and Tim – soon joined the young family. Ten years later a surprise baby girl Amanda arrived, making the family complete. Judy finished her education degree at OCC and taught pre-school.

Judy poured into her children, never missing an athletic event or school program. The Forrester family’s love for Jesus led to their being among the founding members of the Westwood Church of Christ in Edmond. While Larry served as a deacon and elder, Judy used her gifts for hospitality and for teaching, especially in the cradle role class. When grandchildren eventually arrived, Judy spent years caring for them.

Judy is survived by son Todd and friend E’Shaina Harned, son Tim and wife Risa, and daughter Amanda and husband Luke Watson. Seven grandchildren – Erin, Sam, Hallie, Cal, Finley, Nora, Knox, and Klein – affectionately called her “Mimi” and will miss her. Judy leaves behind four sisters – Jane Buntely, Suzette Stephens, Jill Denton and husband Tom, Janell Huntsman and husband Gary, and loads of special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Larry, and her parents.

The family is especially grateful to the staff at Integris Hospice House for their love and care in Judy’s last days.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Memorial Road Church of Christ at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 6.
