James “Jay” Ryan Jones

James “Jay” Ryan Jones

1976 – 2022

On September 28, 2022, James (Jay) Ryan Jones was carried to heaven by angels. What a glorious site it must have been to see Jay run into the arms of Jesus and his daddy, whom he had missed for 11 years.

Jay was born on April 7, 1976, in Oklahoma City to proud parents, Carl Sherman Jones and Louise Tucker Jones. Home was Jay’s happy place, laughing, loving and enjoying his family. Though he struggled with many health problems, Jay was an overcomer, never letting anything get him down.

A graduate of Edmond Memorial High School, Jay was active in Special Olympics, winning the gold, silver and bronze medals in track and field and received numerous awards and trophies for his Art. He enjoyed a card ministry to shut-ins and was often a church greeter. Jay loved to sing and dance to the Lord and was an absolute jewel to numerous friends and family.

Jay was preceded in death by his father, Carl Sherman Jones, his brother, Travis Sherman Jones, his sister, Paula Dyann Hervey and a niece, Sharina Rae Dawn Hervey. He is survived by his mother, Louise Tucker Jones, his brother, Aaron Wade Jones and wife, Amy, his niece, Alexandria Elizabeth Jones and his nephew, Axton Sherman Jones. He is also survived by his niece, Monica La Nae Hervey and grand-nephews and niece, Jaylen, Aaliyah, Jayce, and JaRon, as well as a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Jay’s name to One World Mission (oneworldmission.org), HHBC Special Education Ministry Program (https://www.hhbc.com/special-needs) or Wings Special Needs Community (https://wingsok.networkforgood.com/projects/31887-wings-ok).
