1952-2021
Jacqueline Deane Self Gooch died overnight in her bedroom, on November 10, 2021, of a heart attack in her home in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Born February 22nd, 1952, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, oldest child, at 69, of Donald D. Self and Carol Judith Henthorn. Jackie attended Putnam City Schools, then Central State University for her teacher’s degree in Special Education. She married April 1st, 1974, to Johnny Gooch, an employee of General Motors in Oklahoma for many years until the plant closed. Jacqueline was married to him until he died in 2005. She loved her job of teaching children with special needs and was concerned and offered to help all members of our family as well. Even after she had to retire in 2000, she enjoyed being helpful to her grandchildren, and they loved her.
She is survived by her father Donald D. Self, her sons John Thomas and Stephen Dean Gooch, nephew Matthew Dean Self, and youngest sister Rebecca Ann Wade all of Edmond, Oklahoma, as well as sister Deborah Carol Olson of Surprise, Arizona, stepsiblings Donnis Moore of Greenwood Village, Colorado, and David and Doyle Jones of Hennessey, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her many, much-loved grandchildren, as well as spouses of the above. In lieu of flowers please send donations to your favorite children’s charity.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel
