Gloria Jean Kallenberger

1949 – 2022

Gloria Kallenberger, 73, of Edmond, Oklahoma, died on December 29, 2022, in Edmond after her long courageous battle with multiple medical issues. She was born July 2, 1949, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to William and June Moore. She married Paul E. Kallenberger April 17, 1969.

Gloria graduated from Tulsa’s Will Rogers High School. Her first job was as a page at First National Bank & Trust Company of Tulsa. She met Paul while delivering him mail at the bank.

Gloria loved people, particularly little people. She was very involved with her son’s grade school and loved teaching art appreciation classes to first and second graders.  She enjoyed playing her piano. Gloria loved art and was an accomplished artist, especially paintings of children and animals.

Gloria lived her faith in her Lord Jesus Christ as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, pianist, chaperone on a youth mission trip and, during the past year, she had the joy of holding little babies in the church nursery. Gloria participated for several weeks sharing the Gospel to children in Ukraine. Through her interpreter, she shared her faith in Jesus to the children under the ever-present scrutiny of the Ukrainian bureaucrats. As with many of her activities, she spent several weeks in the hospital upon her return with her heart condition.

She is survived by her husband Paul, of Edmond, her son Matthew, and his wife Candace, also of Edmond. She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Georgia Collins and her constant companion, caregiver, and precious West Highland Terrier Shorty.

A memorial service will be held 10AM Wednesday January 4th at Edmond’s Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly with Dr. Burge Troxel, officiating. A graveside service with be held at 2PM Wednesday January 4th in Tulsa’s Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Ted Johnson officiating.
