Frank Sage Nickel
July 5, 1962 – December 27, 2021
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Frank Nickel of Edmond, Oklahoma, on Monday, December 27,2021 at the age of 59. Frank Sage Nickel was born July 5, 1962, in Salina, Kansas. He graduated from El Reno High School then went on to Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he graduated with a Bachelors in Physics Engineering and a minor in both mathematics and music. He lived in New Mexico where he worked for BDM as a research scientist. He then returned to Oklahoma and worked for Ditch Witch in their Research and Development Department. He later joined Navico, working with the sonar team. He was working at ATC as an engineer at the time of his death. Throughout his work history he had over 40 patents. He enjoyed working with his hands fixing things, scuba diving, motorcycles, & calculators. He enjoyed learning and teaching everyone he knew about math and physics. He was the smartest man most of us have ever known but he would not say that himself, as he was humble. He was preceded in death by his Father, Elton J. Nickel, Mother, Ella (New) Nickel and half-brother Bob Nickel. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Karri (Anderson) Nickel, son Drey Nickel, daughter Bria Nickel, step-daughter Annamarie (Daniel) Douglas, and grandchildren Bentley and Lincoln.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022, beginning at 12:00 PM and lasting until 8:00 PM at Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond, Oklahoma.
Funeral Services will be held at the Matthews Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 7, 2022, at 2:00 PM.
