Elmer Dale Yost
1926 – 2022
Dale Yost, 96, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born at home on the farm near Mulhall, Oklahoma on June 23, 1926, to Ernest and Lillie Yost. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Vona, his parents, and two sisters, Vinita Barker and Esther Donathan.
Dale is survived by his daughter, Conna Woolsey and her husband, Paul, of Edmond, Oklahoma , and a niece, Janice Bennett and her husband, Tom of Bryan, Texas.
Dale was a member of the Greatest Generation and proudly served in the
U S Navy during World War II. In 2013 he was privileged to participate in one of the Oklahoma Honor Flights To Washington, D.C. where all the veterans were honored for their service. The memory of that trip brought him joy throughout the rest of his life.
Dale retired from the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety where he worked as a mechanic maintaining the vehicles for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Dale was a beloved husband and father. There will be a private interment at Oak Grove Cemetery in Payne County.
