Edwin W. Walker
1922-2022
Edwin W. Walker age 99 went to be with his Heavenly Father 4/20/22.
Ed was born 7/29/22 in Chouteau, OK to Fred and Bessie Walker.
He married Velsa Mae Sewell November 2, 1942. Their happy union lasted 51 years.
He began work in 1949 with S.E. Evans Construction Company of Fort Smith, AR. He was a Superintendent of Highway Construction in the states of OK, TX, AR and LA.
In 1953 he joined the Masonic Lodge in Chandler, OK. He was an active member in the Masonic Lodge, received his 33rd Degree and was very proud of his 50 year pin which he received in 2003.
Ed was preceded in death by his mother and father, six brothers, three sisters, loving first wife Velsa, beloved mother of Bill and grandmother of Cindy and Greg, and second wife Mary.
He is survived by his son Bill Walker and wife Lynn of Edmond, his granddaughter, Cindy Walker of Edmond and grandsons Greg Walker and Kevin King of Dallas, a host of nieces and nephews and their families as well as countless friends.
In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing motorcycles and flying small planes. In his later years he loved telling stories about his childhood and growing up.
The family extends their thanks and gratitude to the staff of Teal Creek Assisted Living Edmond, Integris Hospital Edmond and Integris Hospice House Oklahoma City for all their loving care.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 28th, 1-6 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 29th at 2:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly, Edmond, OK 73003. Internment will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.
