Doris Ann DiPaula
1931 – 2021
Doris “Dot” DiPaula, of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on December 10, 2021. She was 89 years old. Doris was born December 26, 1931 , to William and Georgianna Weidmuller in Jersey City and was the fifth born of six siblings.
In 1954, Doris met the love of her life George DiPaula in Jersey City and got married in November of that year. They went on to have a happy and loving marriage of 37 years. Doris and George went on to have four children: Debra DiPaula, Kathleen DiPaula, George DiPaula, and Thomas DiPaula. Doris was a devoted wife and a wonderful mother.
Doris and George moved to South Plainfield, New Jersey in 1965 where they built a home to raise their children. Doris participated in her local community and made a career in the South Plainfield School system. In 1976 she was hired by John F. Kennedy Elementary School, where she worked as a lunch aide for 17 years. She retired in 1993 and was given a dedicated service award for gratitude and excellence to the students and community from South Plainfield Board of Education.
Doris relocated to Edmond, Oklahoma in 1993 and fell in love with the Sooner State. She enjoyed the spirit of the heartland, and pursued her love for cooking, keeping up with the news, and sharing family stories. She had a robust larger-than-life personality. In addition, Doris was smart, loved to tell witty jokes, do crosswords, and spell big words when asked. Her strength will be deeply missed.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents William and Georgianna Weidmuller, along with her husband George DiPaula Sr. and daughter Kathleen DiPaula. She is survived by daughter Debra DiPaula and sons George DiPaula and Thomas DiPaula. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, daughter-in-law Amy DiPaula: grandchildren Charles Lobaito, Nicole Lobaito, Edward Giese, Brandon DiPaula, Carter DiPaula, and great granddaughter Mia DiPaula.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 14th, 2021, at 2:00PM at Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond, OK.
