Dina Helen Pedersen

Dina Helen Pedersen

1963-2022

Dina Helen Pedersen (nee Thelen) went to be with our Lord and Savior on 17 January 2022, she was 58 years old.  She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Tim Pedersen, her two incredible children: daughter Paivy Anderson, son Zane Pedersen and her sister Briana Hilberg.  She is predeceased by her parents Lois and Jerry Thelen of Baltimore, Maryland.

Born and raised in Maryland, Dina lived most of her life in Oklahoma.  She spent her time on earth caring and loving for others.  She was many things to so many people – a full time mother & homemaker, and loving spouse.  She was always on the go, an early riser who was positive in attitude no matter what the situation.  Her genuine laugh and way with the perfectly timed words warmed too many hearts to count.  She provided much needed hugs, fixed everything around the house, made clothes and crafts, bought the ideal gift for the occasion, could find any “lost items”, was the IT genius of the home, and spent countless hours volunteering for both Paivy and Zane at their schools and colleges.  In addition, she tutored both children in school subjects, especially adept in math.  There simply was nothing she could not do. Dina loved working at Edmond Mobile Meals, with the “Baking Girls”, working out at the Mitch Park YMCA with her “Workout Girls”, and playing Bunko with the “Bunko Girls”.  The friendships from these groups created incredible bonds and an extended loving family.

She was skilled in photography, capturing family moments and putting them in photo albums which will always tell a story.  Many would ask her to take their family picture, knowing Dina would capture the perfect backdrop.  She looked forward to her daily walk in the neighborhood complete with sunhat, talking and laughing with her sister, all the while praying for the well-being of her family.

She loved Disney, nature, planned all family vacations with precision, and made the tastiest deserts.  Her biggest love was for her children.  When her children were blue, it caused her heart to ache.  She inspired them to be the wonderful and successful adults they are today.

She was an angel in the eyes of many.  Her hope for all was to love a little harder, be kinder more often, and be thankful for the many blessings we experience.  In lieu of flowers, Dina would be honored for donations to go to Edmond Mobile Meals.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church in Edmond, Oklahoma.

The family request that flowers not be sent to the Memorial Service.
