Debra K. Royster
1953-2022
Debra Kay (Henley) Royster, resident of Edmond, Oklahoma died on May 22, 2022, after an 8 month battle with cancer. She was born to Orval and Mary Henley on November 18, 1953, in Oklahoma City.
Debra lived a life full of passion, generosity, and loyalty. She was an active member of the Acts II congregation, an ardent Star Trek and Barbie fan, a voracious reader, and a long-time contributor to a slew of charitable causes. She spent part her childhood working at the family grocery store and learned to use the cash register before she was tall enough to reach it. She also spent part of her childhood growing up on a farm riding her Shetland pony, Snipper, and secretly loved that he wouldn’t let anyone else ride him. She graduated from Oklahoma State University with her master’s degree in accounting in 1981 and was very proud of her lifetime career as a Certified Public Accountant. She was also proud of her accomplishments making porcelain dolls and won countless awards alongside her sister, Keitha. She adored her grandchildren, and spent countless hours having sleepovers, riding roller coasters, and spoiling her granddaughter with stuffed animals. Whether it was floating the river with the River Girls or filing her Barnes and Noble receipts, she did everything with gusto, and her spirit for life will be greatly missed. She loved everyone in her life unconditionally and was always willing to provide a helping hand. She made the world a better place and was deeply loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orval and Mary Henley, sister Annette Henley, brother James Henley, nephews David Pulliam and Kyle Henley, and niece Vickie Longan.
She is survived by her husband, Bryan Royster, her daughter, Heather Wiggins (Jordan) and their children Seth, 14 and Iris, 5., her sister Keitha O’Leary (William), brother Kirk Henley (Cheryl), sister-in-law Viva Henley and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins.
