Darrell Wayne Coppedge
On January 26, 2022, Darrell Wayne Coppedge, 71, left this earth for his eternal home in Heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ. One of the many principles important to Darrell was that of loyalty, and he was a very loyal, faithful and steadfast husband, son, brother, and friend. He was born in Miami, Oklahoma on February 12, 1950. He graduated from Miami High School. He also attended Oklahoma Baptist University and later went on to graduate from Oklahoma City University Law School. Darrell enjoyed traveling, especially to Israel with close friends Reverend Nick and Crystal Harris. He made numerous trips there with them and you could always find Darrell behind a camera recording video for Nick while he toured the Holy Land and lectured. He also recorded on video the many years of sermons Nick preached at First United Methodist Church in downtown Oklahoma City where he was a member and sang in the choir for many years. His current church home was Crossings Community Church, Oklahoma City.
Darrell is preceded in death by his father, James Arnold Coppedge, and is survived by his wife, Barbara of 22 years, his mother, Bea Coppedge Whiteley, his sisters, Lynda Gagnon, Glynda Teal and brother-in-law Don Teal, Marsha Kelly and his brother, Dean Coppedge and sister-in-law Brenda Coppedge, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 31 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with Dr. Cliff Sanders of Crossings Community Church officiating.
