Cecelia Leona McWhorter
October 3, 1950 – May 21, 2022
Cecelia (Cec) Leona (Edwards) McWhorter, 71, went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 21, 2022, in Oklahoma City. She was born October 3, 1950, in Oklahoma City to Earl and Josephine Edwards.
At a young age she was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome but that did not define who she was. She was a very determined person and lived life to the fullest. She graduated from Putnam City Highschool and went on to college at UCO where she met the love of her life Leslie A. McWhorter and they married on December 31, 1981. She was a medical coder for many years. She was a member at Lakeview Park Church of the Nazarene. She was the life of the party and never met a stranger. She made friends anywhere she went, and some were friends for life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Tom, and Jolene Murphy (brother-in-law & sister), Brenda Speikers (niece), Josh McWhorter (grandson) and Lindsey McWhorter (granddaughter in law).
She is survived by her nieces Amanda Hornbeck (Donny) of Yukon, Tammy Murphy of Perry, daughter Lisa Scruggs (Cody) of Edmond, son Les, Jr. of Vinita, grandson Nathan, of Milburn, OK, 3 great nieces and 4 great nephews.
The family would like to thank Baptist Village and Excel Hospice for your loving care for Cec in her final days.
