Betty J. Ingle
1938-2022
Betty Jean (Long) Ingle was born in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Helma Charlotte (Wileman) and Arthur Leroy Long. She lived in Guthrie until she was 16 years old.
Betty married her sweetheart of 67 years, Obert Byron Ingle, on October 3, 1954 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Shortly after they were married, they moved to Sterling, Colorado, where their first daughter was born. Betty accepted Christ at the Nazarene church in Sterling and was a lifelong follower.
During the 60’s the family lived in Gillette, WY, where Betty worked as a dental assistant. She acquired (stole) her secret recipe for peanut brittle from the church ladies at the Assembly of God church during a Christmas project.
In 1969 they adopted a baby girl and moved to Powell Wyoming that same year. They bought their first dream home beside the Shoshoni river and created a “Noah’s ark” farm full of animals.
In 1976 they moved to Casper, Wyoming. Betty was a full time home-maker while working other part-time jobs for fun. She enjoyed cleaning homes and selling Jewelry at JC Penny’s. She also loved serving at the “Mis-Information Booth” every Sunday at Highland Park Community Church. During their time in Casper they adopted a son and moved back to Oklahoma in 1991.
They built their last dream home on 5 acres in Edmond, where she lived until she went to her final home.
Betty loved flowers, gardening, and her family; including her church family. She was faithful to God and serving others. She could not wait for Sunday mornings to greet people in the Atrium at Crossings and on Monday afternoons to welcome her Fellowship Friends group.
Betty is survived by her husband, Obert, daughters Pam Ingle of Edmond, Brenda Weis of North Dakota, son Greg (Stephanie) Ingle of Coyle, Ok, numerous grandchildren, and 2 sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
