Arwanna Jeanne (Weiss) Shotts was born on October 30, 1937, to Paul and Flora Weiss. She was the oldest of their two daughters. Her younger sister, Barbara, was born 5 years later. Arwanna was born and raised in Edmond, Oklahoma.

She met the love of her life Lendon while working at his aunt’s café during college. They were married shortly after on August 16, 1957.

They welcomed two daughters Michelle, and a couple of years later, Debbie. They moved to Colorado to raise their family. Arwanna came from a family full of faith. Her grandfather was one of the first members of the Edmond Church of Christ. She served as an elder’s wife in Greeley, CO and Edmond, OK for a total of 30 years. She and Lendon went on several mission trips together. She also taught at Sonshine School for several years.
