Addie Faye Brownlee

1942-2022

The full, adventurous, earthly life of Addie Faye Young Brownlee came to a close on Thursday, March 31st, 2022, in Oklahoma City. Faye was born in Drain, Oregon, on January 20, 1942, to John William Young and Zaddie Ruth King Young. She was the middle sister in a hard-working family who extended unconditional love to everyone they met. She grew up around Oklahoma, and graduated from Northeast High School in 1960, along with her high school sweetheart, Thomas G. Brownlee, and many friends whom she held dear for a lifetime. She and Tom married in OKC on August 25,1961.  She attended the University of Oklahoma and worked as a secretary at Cleary Petroleum and then for the Oklahoma House of Representatives until the early 1980s. Faye & Tom raised their children, Sean and Page, in NW OKC and Edmond while she became the bookkeeper for their family business, Brownlee Construction. As her children were reaching adulthood, Faye trained to become an esthetician and opened Body Solutions Day Spa, where she gained many close friends in the beauty industry.

After Tom passed away in 2007, Faye began attending the Path Sunday School Class at Church of the Servant where she enjoyed many dear friendships, faith-filled conversations, and fond memories. She beat cervical cancer in 2016 and filled the last six years of her life with unforgettable experiences through world-wide travel. She remodeled her architectural home where she hosted OU football watch parties and celebrations with family and friends. Faye had many hobbies; she enjoyed painting, gardening, playing tennis, snow skiing, being on the lake, watching home decorator shows, and playing cards.

Faye is survived by her son, Sean, and his wife Kimberli, of Edmond, OK, and their children, Sean Kyle and Mianna, of Norman, OK; her daughter, Alycia Page Brownlee Line, and her husband Donnie, of Wyandotte, OK, and his children, Matthew and Mikki; her sister, Ruth Glasgow; her nieces, Anita Rogers and wife, Gina, CeCe Harned and husband, Reed, and his children, Kahle and Corey, and their children, Court and Cage; her sister-in-law, Trudy Ensey, and her children, John, Jeff, and Elizabeth.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Church of the Servant, Chapel of the Cross, in Oklahoma City on April 12 at 3:00 PM. Her ashes will be interned at Memorial Park Cemetery, OKC. A reception is to follow in foyer.
