Howard J. Coffman, Sr.
1939-2025
Howard Jay Coffman Sr. was born September 21, 1939, in Kansas City, Missouri to William & Georgia Coffman. He departed this life on Friday, April 11, 2025, at home. In his early years he worked for GM and raced sprint cars. He packed his young family up and moved them to California. While in California he worked for Ford Motor Company and B.A.R.T. He was a member and Past Master of Golden Rule Lodge 479 of San Jose, California for 50 years. He also was a member of the Scottish Rite and the Shriners. Jay was a huge Kansas City Chief’s fan.
He is survived by his wife: Beverly, his sister: Linda Davis her husband Paul, his children: Son-Jay Jr., Son- Curtis his wife Kathy and Daughter -Terri, Grandchildren: Jessica Salamida her husband Joe, Scott Coffman his fiancé Shannon. Seven Great grandchildren and various nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents; William and Georgia Coffman, Wife: Judy Coffman, Sister’s: Loryl Jennings, Janice Smith and Lela Waggerman.
Viewing will be on Tuesday April 15, 2025, from 1:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home.
Services will be held at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday April 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with burial on Thursday April 17, 2025, in Belton Cemetery in Belton, Missouri.
