Henry L. Cook

Henry L. CookCook, Henry

1942-2018

Henry L. Cook, 76 of Edmond, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, August 25, 2018, after battling Alzheimer’s the last few years. He was born February 3, 1942 in Chickasha, OK to Olten and Vera Cook. Henry married Linda Darst on June 6, 1962 in Bucklin, Kansas. He graduated from Midwest Christian College, and spent his life serving in ministry at several churches in Oklahoma. Henry never met a stranger, as he loved talking to everyone that crossed his path. This was in part due to his passion of reaching everyone for Christ. He also loved to fish, especially with his sons and grandchildren and also enjoyed watching OU football. Henry is survived by Linda, his wife of 56 years, sons, Duane Cook of Tulsa, Brian Cook of Oklahoma City, grandchildren, Colton and Kyndall Cook also of Tulsa, brother Charles Cook and wife Darline of Covington, Georgia, and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Marjorie Hill, Ralph Cook, Leo Cook, Pansy Durre and Elsie Goble.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cookson Hills Christian Ministries or The Alzheimer’s Research Association.

Services are at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.

    Linda,
Our hearts were saddened to hear of Henry’s passing, yet we rejoice that he has finished his race and his faith has become sight! It was always good to see you and Henry as our lives crossed paths through the years. His smile was engaging and he showed a genuine interest in our lives and ministry.
We are praying that the God of all comfort will minister to you and your family and meet your every need.

    Love, Doug and Jan Hinkle

Linda, I was sorry to read about your loss of Henry. I loved what was said in the obituary about him. I remember his strong faith in high school and was pleased that he went into the ministry. I have two appointments on Thursday and will not be able to attend his services, but am praying for the family. I have e-mailed our classmates about his passing. Kaye Crawford
