Harry Mason Holmes Jr. was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 12, 1952 to Harry Mason Holmes Sr. and Betty Jean Huddleston. He passed on August 12, 2021 in Edmond, Oklahoma. 

 

Harry was a kind and loving father and grandfather, and a patriot that fought for his country and put that above almost all else. Harry joined the army at the age of 17 to serve his country, and traveled all over the world during his 22 years of service, having served in combat in both Vietnam and Desert Storm. Some of his greatest joys outside of his service were fishing, playing his guitar, watching any Cleveland Browns games he could, and spending time with his granddaughter. 

 

Harry will be dearly missed by the rest of the family: his spouse, Janet Bowesman; his son and daughter-in-law David and Gaylon Morris of Tuttle, OK; his daughter Michelle Holmes of Clinton, OK; his daughter Jessica Holmes of Edmond, OK; his brother and sister-in-law David and Susan Holmes of Louisville, KY; his sister Regina (Gail) Butts of Cleveland OH; his sister Peggy Sue Carter of Lodi, OH; his grandson and spouse Joshua and Jordan Holmes of Cedar Park, TX; his grandson and partner Aaron and Olivia Holmes of Del City, OK; his granddaughter Alexandria Morris and her partner of Norman, OK; his granddaughter Euriah Morris and her partner of Shawnee, OK; his grandson Jonathan Morris of Omak, WA; his granddaughter Bexley Elmore, of Miller, SD; his granddaughter Alyzah Brown of Miller, SD; his special cancer warrior granddaughter Vaylah Lynn Ramirez of Edmond, OK; his great grandchildren Jhavon and Khloe Holmes, Akilex Morris, and Inteus Kickingbird.   

 

He was preceded in passing by: his parents, Harry Mason Holmes Sr. and Betty Jeans Huddleston, his daughter Samantha Holmes, his sister Debra Walker, and his sister Betty Lynn Farmer. 

 

Services for Harry’s remembrance will be held at Matthews Funeral Home at 601 S. Kelly Ave. in Edmond, OK. Private viewing for friends and family will be on Monday, August 16 from 5PM to 8PM. General services will be held the following day on Tuesday, August 17 at 2PM.
